Bayern Munich’s big announcement about Kingsley Coman’s future

It was a rather hectic end of the transfer window for Kingsley Coman. During the last days of this summer market, the French international was very close to changing air, coveted in England but in Saudi Arabia in particular. There was talk of a departure to Arsenal and Al-Hilal in particular, and even a return to Paris, but in the end, he did not move.

However, it was not yet completely over for the player trained at PSG. If the main European markets closed their doors at the end of last week, others are still open for a few hours or for a few more days. This is the case of Saudi Arabia, with a transfer window that ends this Monday, September 2. A departure to Al-Hilal or another Saudi Pro League club was therefore still on the agenda.

Future sealed

But that will not be the case. As Bayern Munich have indicated, Coman will stay at the club this season. “Kingsley Coman stays with us”coldly launched Max Eberl, Bavarian sporting director, after the Bundesliga match against Freiburg (2-0). Enough to put an end to speculation, for the moment at least, while the player took part in the two championship matches played by his club so far, all coming on in the second half.

With a contract expiring in 2027, Coman, 28, is likely to be at the heart of rumors in a year’s time. It remains to be seen what Vincent Kompany’s plans will be with him during the season. A 2024/2025 season as an undisputed starter could therefore have an influence on his future, he who has lost his role as an undisputed player in the Blues’ group in the eyes of his coach Didier Deschamps…
