This is the subject that has animated Bayern Munich for several weeks now. Thomas Tuchel’s future was sealed some time ago now. After a disappointing spell, the former PSG coach will leave Bayern Munich this summer. The loss of the Bundesliga title and the elimination in the German Cup by a D3 reinforced the management in this choice. From now on, only the C1 remains to avoid experiencing a historic white season for the German club. Since this announcement, the Bavarian management has logically been working for the new coach and several names have been studied.

The first track led to Xabi Alonso, brilliant with Bayer Leverkusen. But the Spanish technician decided to extend his adventure in his club. The names of Hansi Flick and Julian Nagelsmann were also mentioned. The Germany coach, despite some contacts, put an end to the rumors by extending with the Mannschaft. But one name has been igniting the German and European press for several days: Zinédine Zidane. The Spanish press even announced that he was the priority and that with Nagelsmann’s refusal, the file would be completed quickly. This Saturday on Sky Sportssports director Max Eberl did not deny this possibility, even explaining that the next coach, if he does not speak German, will have to speak English as if to convey a message while the Team explained that the barrier language could be a hindrance for Zidane.

A duel between Emery and De Zerbi

For its part, the German press, and in particular BILD, often close to the Bavarian management, seemed more measured and explained that Zinédine Zidane was not really a studied profile. Well this Sunday, the German daily says: Zinédine Zidane will not be the next coach of Bayern Munich. German leaders ruled out this possibility even before actually meeting him. No concrete exchange had taken place according to BILD which specifies that now, there are only two coaches left in the race for the position of coach.

According to the indiscretions of the German media, Eberl is a fan of Unai Emery and Roberto De Zerbi. These are the two credible candidates. The former PSG coach has a head start, as he is judged to have the shoulders to coach a club as big as Bayern Munich. His style of play is considered perfect for a team like Bayern Munich. But we will have to take out the checkbook for Bayern Munich since Emery should be linked to Aston Villa until 2027. De Zerbi therefore also remains a credible option. We should have an outcome very soon while Bayern Munich does not want to rush into making another casting error.
