Bayern Munich announced Monday, via a press release, the organization of the “ Beckenbauer Cup », a tournament bringing together football legends, scheduled for March 17 to celebrate the club’s 125th anniversary. Among the invited teams will be former players from Real Madrid, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, VfB Stuttgart and other major European clubs.

Nicknamed the “Kaiser», Franz Beckenbauer, who died on January 7 at the age of 78, made football history by redefining the position of libero and winning numerous titles with Bayern, of which he then took over as president.
