Bayley has revealed her feelings about her match with Sasha Banks, now known as Mercedes Moné, being the first ever women’s WWE PPV main event.

At NXT TakeOver: Respect in 2015, Bayley was coming off a huge win over Mercedes Moné (then known as Sasha Banks). She won the NXT Women’s Championship at TakeOver: Brooklyn and was now the top star in NXT. Triple H then made the call to have the rematch be the main event of TakeOver: Respect in an Iron Woman match. This was the first time two women had gone on last in a WWE PLE, so the duo made history.

Bayley recently spoke with the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast where she talked about her match with Mercedes Mone at NXT TakeOver: Respect. The former NXT Women’s Champion talked about how Triple H told the pair they were going to go on last.

Bayley: Wrestling Mercedes Moné Is A Dream

“We were literally sitting there, and he said he wanted to talk to us. So she [Mercedes Moné] was already up on the road. You know, Raw and SmackDown at that point. So it was just weird that he wanted her there after, like, we were done. You know, we did Brooklyn, we were done. And once he told us the news, I mean, like. I feel like sometimes this gets looked over, but like, we were the first women to main event a pay-per-view for WWE ever.”

“We’ve main evented so many times since then. But to be able to be the first—and the first women to have an Iron Man match. You know, wrestling her is already a dream. Wrestling her is, like, I feel, every woman’s wrestler’s dream because she’s just on a different level, has always been. But to be able to do that with her, make history, and just—Hunter making it special—like, he made us feel special, you know, putting it on that show. I forget what it was… Breaking Ground?” Bayley said.

“You know, calling us early that day to get there and just making us feel like it was important and making us feel that we deserved it,” Bayley added.
