Bayley thought winning the Royal Rumble was like a fairytale.

The former WWE Women’s Champion was the last woman standing at last year’s PLE. Bayley outlasted 29 other women to win the Royal Rumble for the first time. She entered third in the match, last eliminating Liv Morgan to earn herself a title shot at WrestleMania 40.

Bayley went on to defeat her Damage CTRL teammate IYO SKY at WrestleMania 40, taking home the WWE Women’s Championship. The Royal Rumble win was one of the biggest moments of her career. It was one she wanted everyone else to enjoy as well.

Bayley spoke with Reality of Wrestling and was asked about winning the 2024 Royal Rumble match. She explained how there were so many emotions that she wanted everybody to feel when she won, and loved when the fans pointed to the WrestleMania sign along with her.

The former champion added that she didn’t want to wrestle after winning, wanting to avoid getting injured before WrestleMania. However, she called winning the match a “fairytale”.

Bayley On Winning The 2024 Royal Rumble

“There’s so many emotions, and it’s a whole thing of like, ‘Just help me get through this match.’ I just wanted it to be perfect, you know? I wanted everybody to feel every emotion possible.” Bayley said.

“Being able to point at that sign was so hard to do with a straight face and not just break down crying.” Bayley added. “There’s a cool picture that WWE took of me pointing at the sign—you know, the picture everybody wants—with the fireworks in the back and everything. But what made it special was that everybody in the background was pointing at the sign with me. I don’t know if it’s happened before, but I don’t remember ever seeing a picture like that, where every fan in the back was pointing at the sign too. It was such a crazy moment.”

“Then there’s the whole, ‘Once it’s done, please let me stay healthy all the way to WrestleMania.’ Oh my God, I didn’t want to wrestle at all. I didn’t want to have any matches. ‘Let me just get to WrestleMania.’ There’s so much that goes into it, but man, it was like a fairy tale for me.”
