Just weeks after announcing her breast cancer diagnosis, Nicole Eggert revealed doctors have found cancer in her lymph nodes.
“The self-exams, I’m telling you, I kick myself [for not doing them frequently],” she recently told Inside Edition, per the Daily Mail.
“That’s the one thing I should have been doing.”
The “Baywatch” alum, 52, blamed the breast implants she got as a teenager for making it more difficult to detect the cancer.
“If I didn’t have them and I had my smaller, natural breasts, I am sure I would have felt it much sooner,” she said.
Recalling the moment she learned of her stage 2 cribriform carcinoma diagnosis, she added, “My heart dropped, I lost all hearing, everything sank.”
The “Baywatch” alum recently told Inside Edition that doctors found cancer in her lymph nodes, per the Daily Mail. TheImageDirect.comThe actress told People in January that she received her rare diagnosis after finding a lump in her left breast, which had been “throbbing and hurting.”
Eggert said the hardest part of her cancer diagnosis is the thought of leaving her daughters, Keegan, 12, and Dilyn, 25, behind.
“[Dilyn’s] an adult, but I have a 12-year-old at home where I’m the only caregiver. I have no family. I have nothing,” she explained.
“It immediately made me realize, there’s just no succumbing to this. This is something I have to get through.”
Eggert said she wishes she did self-examinations more frequently. The actress said she needs to get through her cancer for the sake of her 12-year-old daughter. Nicole Eggert/Instagram“When you have to put on that one-piece and you’re so flat that it’s pleating … You’re like, ‘What is this?”’ she recalled.
Eggert also vented on Instagram about the frequent trips to the doctor she must now make amid her breast cancer journey.
“Hours upon hours of my life these days are spent on hold for medical services, appointments and corrections upon more corrections,” she captioned a Jan. 12 selfie. “Something has to change…”
