BBC Storyville and Fulwell 73 label Bitachon 365 have boarded Israeli network Hot 8’s upcoming feature doc on the tragedy that befell the Supernova Music Festival on October 7.
Deadline revealed that Bad Boys studio Sipur was producing the doc several months ago and it has since been given the working title We Will Dance Again.
Helmed by The Devil’s Confession: The Lost Eichmann Tapes‘s Yariv Mozer, the doc offers new interviews and previously unseen exclusive footage of the tragic Supernova Music Festival massacre, which took place on 7 October 2023 and was the catalyst for the horrific Israel-Gaza War. On that day, what began as a celebration of life, love and music for thousands of young people turned into the deadliest terror attack in Israel’s history by Hamas, and more than 200 people were kidnapped – many of whom have still ont been returned.
Storyville has acquired for the UK and Fulwell label Bitachon, which is run by Sheldon Lazarus, is producing with Sipur and in collaboration with MGM Television. Israel’s Hot 8 and HSCC has rights locally.
“The massacre at the SuperNova Festival was a crime against humanity, broadcast in real time to the world by its perpetrators,” said Lazarus. “The film we are making is a testament to the triumph of the human spirit against the most incredible odds and in the face of unimaginable horror.”
Deadline revealed last year that Late Late Show maker Fulwell had launched Bitachon, its first UK label, with Blowing LA producer Lazarus at the helm.
We Will Dance Again is one of several October 7 docs to have emerged since the tragedy including a Sheryl Sandberg-fronted show about sexual atrocities committed by Hamas and another, #Nova, from Yes TV. It is executive produced by Lazarus alongside Leo Pearlman, Ben Turner, and Gabe Turner for Bitachon 365; Emilio Schenker, Michael Peter Schmidt and Gideon Tadmor from Sipur; Dari Shay, Rinat Klein and Dorit Hessel for HSCC, with Michal Weitz as producer; and Lucie Kon as EP for BBC Storyville.
