Beast Games has set a record for Prime Video, becoming the streamer’s most-watched unscripted series ever in its first 25 days.
According to Prime Video, the series has racked up 50M viewers globally in that time frame. That also makes it the second most-watched and second most acquisitive new series of 2024, behind only Fallout.
Prime Video says that more than half of the Beast Games audience is based internationally with especially strong performances in India, the UK, and Mexico.
It’s unclear exactly how Prime Video is quantifying “viewers,” since there is no way for the streamers to determine exactly how many people are watching via a single stream, or if anyone is watching at all. It’s possible that the company is using active sub households to arrive at this number, like Paramount Global does, but Amazon has declined to provide guidance when asked.
Based on his already successful YouTube show, Beast Games is touted “to become the biggest reality competition series ever with 1000 contestants competing for a $5 million dollar cash prize” — the biggest payout in TV history. MrBeast will serve as host and executive producer.
In November 2022, MrBeast became the most subscribed YouTube creator worldwide and now has over 244 million subscribers. His social media career began when he first posted on the platform at 13, though he rose to fame in 2017 when a video of MrBeast counting to 100,000 went viral.
Beast Games is hosted by co-creator and executive producer, Jimmy Donaldson (aka MrBeast), alongside co-creators Sean Klitzner, Tyler Conklin, and Mack Hopkins, in addition to executive producers Michael Cruz, Matt Apps, Charles Wachter, Keith Geller, Joe Coleman, and Rachel Skidmore. Klitzner and Conklin also serve as executive producers.
A new episode of Beast Games is available beginning Thursday, and apparently one of the contestants may or may not win an island.
