EXCLUSIVE: Grandview has brought in manager Becca Martinez to work within the company’s growing intellectual property department. She joins from Curate, where she oversaw books to film as a book manager, and will continue that focus in her new position.
Martinez brings with her clients including Philip K. Dick Award nominee Rebekah Bergman; Pushcart Prize nominee Lucie Britsch, who has multiple novels under option and in development; New York Times bestselling author and journalist Maureen Callahan; International Latino Book Award winner Ann Dávila Cardinal; PEN America/Hemingway Award-winning author Oscar Hokeah; USA Today bestseller Jessica Joyce; PEN/Faulkner Award-winning author Deesha Philyaw, whose collection of short stories, The Secret Lives of Church Ladies, she is co-adapting for Tessa Thompson’s Viva Maude and Max; Sue Grafton Memorial Award nominee Marcie Rendon; debut novelist Hattie Williams; and Locus Award finalist Hannah Yang.
Prior to Curate, Martinez worked at The Gotham Group. She began her career as an assistant at Anonymous Content across various departments, from talent to literary and media rights.
