Becky Lynch comments on the allegations against Vince McMahon.

On January 25, it was reported that Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, in which she alleged that McMahon and Laurinaitis engaged in sexual assault and trafficking of her. The suit alleges that McMahon used his position to threaten “her livelihood and her reputation if she wouldn’t succumb to his increasingly depraved sexual demands.” McMahon and Laurinaitis have denied the allegations, but McMahon is under federal investigation.

Becky Lynch has been one of WWE’s top stars in recent years. She was a key player in the women’s evolution, and she made history when she headlined WrestleMania 35. Lynch worked closely with McMahon, especially during her rise to the top.

In an interview with Alex McCarthy for Inside The Ropes, Becky Lynch was asked to comment on the allegations. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)

“I’ve been fortunate in my career that I’ve always felt supported by the company,” Becky Lynch said. “These allegations are horrible. It’s hard to reconcile, as a talent and as a woman, but my experience in WWE has only ever been amazing. Yes, in the beginning, there were some restrictions put on things. We couldn’t punch, we had to hair pull, there were weird things there.

“Being able to push us forward, push women forward, I’m very grateful for that and the opportunity to even have my family. This company…some of these things are hard to reconcile.”
