On Monday Night RAW last week, a major shift occurred when Rhea Ripley announced she had sustained shoulder injury caused by Liv Morgan, leading her to vacate the WWE Women’s World Championship. This development opened a huge window of opportunity in the women’s division.Becky Lynch seized the moment, ultimately becoming the new WWE Women’s World Champion.

Becky Lynch became seven-time champion by winning a battle royal for the vacant WWE Women’s World Championship on the April 22 episode of WWE Raw. This victory marked her first singles title win on the main roster since capturing the SmackDown Women’s Championship in 2021.

In a Raw Exclusive, Becky Lynch was asked to comment on her WWE Women’s World Championship win. She shared her thoughts on the significance of her title victory and the personal sacrifices she’s made to reach this point.

“It feels great to hear [I’m the WWE Women’s World Champion]. I’ve never held this championship before. Look at it, it’s beautiful, it’s beautiful. Look, for the last few months, Rhea even said it, I’ve been burning the candle all out. I’ve been away from my daughter for weeks on end. Got myself a New York Times bestseller for a damn near month. But man, it’s worth it. It’s worth it because the words of my book are written on my gear. It reminds me why I do this, where I started, where I’ve gotten to. We’re just going up, baby.”

When asked whether she had considered that her daughter, Roux, might now better understand the significance of her WWE Women’s World Championship win, Becky Lynch acknowledged that it had crossed her mind. She emphasized that she wanted to make Roux proud and hoped her success would inspire her daughter as she grew older.

“Everything that I do, I want to make her proud. I hope she’s proud. She did [stay up late to watch the match]. I got a text from my husband [Seth Rollins], who’s recovering from surgery. At all stages, we need at least one champ in the house, so I’m bringing it home, baby.”

We will have to wait and see how WWE will book Becky Lynch as the Women’s World Champion, as quite a few fans are certainly happy to see her become the new champion after so long.
