Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have maintained a long-standing interest in Barcelona winger Raphinha.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed that Spurs have always “appreciated” the Brazilian, even before his move to Spain.
He said:
“Raphinha has always been attractive to several clubs, not only in Europe, when Barcelona signed him from Leeds there was interest from Chelsea and interest from Arsenal. He’s always been a player of interest for Tottenham, they have always appreciated him.”
Barcelona signed Raphinha for a deal worth £50 million, and under new manager Hansi Flick, the 27-year-old has cemented his place as a crucial part of the La Liga leaders’ attack.
After a relatively quiet last season, where he contributed six goals and nine assists in 28 league matches, Raphinha has started the new campaign in explosive form, already scoring five goals and registering three assists in just seven league games.
Since joining Barcelona, Raphinha has racked up an impressive 25 goals and 28 assists in 94 games, underlining his importance to the team.

Raphinha as a future target for Spurs?
Tottenham bolstered their attack during the summer transfer window, with the high-profile signing of Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth.
They also added promising young winger Wilson Odobert, who made a bright start before suffering an injury during a League Cup match against Coventry City. Odobert is expected to be sidelined for a month.
While Spurs are well-stocked in attack for the time being, Raphinha remains on their radar as a potential future target.
However, a move for the Barcelona star is not expected imminently, with Tottenham currently focused on maximizing the output from their existing options.
