AEW has certainly seen a lot of growth over the past five years but there has been a noticeable decline in ratings for all of their shows, especially Dynamite. In fact, some believe that NXT will surpass Dynamite in ratings soon enough.
AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT ran shows at the same time back on October 10th, 2023, as this was the first time they went head-to-head in over a year. Unsurprisingly, NXT defeated AEW Dynamite in terms of ratings by a very large margin and it was truly a decisive win for the company.
Almost a year since then, there have been numerous instances where NXT’s ratings have been very close to AEW Dynamite. Even the Septemer 17th episode of NXT received 677,000 in viewership while AEW Dynamite garnered 687,000 viewers.
While speaking on his K100 podcast, Konnan shared his concern about AEW Dynamite’s recent performance, stating that NXT would soon surpass Dynamite in ratings. He pointed out that NXT has been consistently delivering strong numbers and believes it has become a better overall show, suggesting that Dynamite will get surpassed soon.
“Ok listen to this. NXT was 677. They have been doing good numbers anyways. Soon, NXT is gonna pass them because it’s a better show.”
We will have to wait and see NXT will end up surpassing AEW Dynamite in ratings for good, soon enough, as that seems to be the trajectory at the rate it is going.
