Riyad Mahrez paid a nice tribute to his now ex-coach, Djamel Belamdi.

Dismissed from his position after Algeria’s new fiasco at CAN 2024, Djamel Belmadi received a very nice tribute from Riyad Mahrez. The former Citizen posted a beautiful message to the attention of his ex-coach on his X account (formerly Twitter).

“Everything you did and undertook was only intended to make the people proud”

“Thank you for everything Djamel. Despite this failure at the last CAN, we will never forget the one in Egypt, the 2nd star that you brought back to the country and the 35 matches without defeat, wrote the Al-Ahli striker. I will also not forget all the hard work you have done during these 6 years and especially the love you have for our flag: everything you have done, undertaken, was only intended to make us proud the people. Thanks bro. »

To replace Djamel Belmadi, the Algerian Federation has decided to appoint Bosnian coach Vladimir Petkovic.
