Overwhelmed by the competition from Marc Cucurella, the English left side Ben Chilwell no longer enters the plans of Enzo Maresca in Chelsea. With a single meeting disputed in the official match (against Barrow in EFL Cup), the former Leicester player is looking for a way out to find playing time and regain credit in the eyes of the new Three Lions coach, Thomas Tuchel. According to several English media, Ben Chilwell will join Crystal Palace in the form of a loan. He will also pass his medical examination in the coming hours.

“Ben is very professional, he works hard. I am ashamed of this situation but in terms of behavior, it was impeccable. His absence is simply a choice, because I have players like Malo Gusto, Reece James or Marc Cucurella who can do different things in the corridors ”explained the manager of Chelsea Enzo Maresca to justify the lack of playing time of Chilwell.
