Ben Foster and Laura Prepon are in the middle of a messy divorce and they both have allegations about the other in newly-filed court documents. The former couple split last year after six years of marriage and Ben filed for divorce in November 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. Now, Ben has filed an amended divorce petition in which he accuses Laura of “inappropriate marital conduct.” Keep reading to find out more… In the court documents, which were obtained by In Touch, Ben says the “irreconcilable differences” have made him and Laura “unable to live together successfully as husband and wife.” Ben’s lawyer said, “[Ben] would respectfully show that [Laura] has been guilty of such cruel and inhuman treatment or conduct (i.e.; inappropriate marital conduct) towards [Ben] … which renders further cohabitation unsafe and improper.” Ben wants his pre-nup with Laura to be enforced and for the court to determine a custody schedule for their two children. He also will pay the child support amount determined by the court. Laura is responding to the accusations and denies being guilty of inappropriate conduct in the marriage. “[Laura] asserts the affirmative defense to any allegations brought against her that the ill conduct of [Ben] was a justifiable cause for any conduct complained of against her and [Laura] therefore requests that this court dismiss [Ben’s] cause of action for divorce,” her lawyer said. Laura has accused Ben of “cruel and inhuman treatment or conduct” and being guilty of “habitual drunkenness.” She hopes to be named the “designated the primary residential parent” of their kids. Ben‘s lawyer responded by saying, “Laura Prepon’s filing is the definition of falsehood and a disturbing fiction… [Laura’s] decision to engage in a direct character attack on [Ben] in her response is perfectly illustrative of [Laura’s] compulsion to seize and maintain control over every aspect of family life — regardless of who it hurts — and is also a shining example of why [Ben] chose to file for divorce.” Browse through all of the celebrity splits in 2025.
