Medhi Benatia clarifies things in his path to Marseille.

Since his arrival at Olympique de Marseille in November 2023 as a sports advisor, Medhi Benatia has established himself as one of the essential cogs of the Marseille project. In early January, he was even promoted director of sky and white football, in line with the work accomplished within the club in tandem with President Pablo Longoria.

However, the former Moroccan defender assures that his adventure on the Canebière will not be long -term. A decision motivated by his desire not to sacrifice his family life for too long. However, he promises to invest without counting for OM during his mandate.

Benatia's primary objective before his departure

“I don't know how long I will stay, surely not long, and I'm not afraid to say it. It is mentally used, physically. The only guarantee: I will give everything until the last day ”said the Marseille leader to The team. “I brought my family from Dubai, when they have already traveled a lot during my career. Concretely, when you do this job, in Marseille, you have no family life. The children, my wife, they are there, but you share very little, this club takes you all your energy. »»

“I aspire to go to the Champions League, and the day I leave, to tell me: 'Here, I took this club in these conditions, I sacrificed two, three years of my life, surely not More, to put the club back at this level. Are you happy, not happy? Believe me, I did the maximum every day '”concluded the native of Courcouronnes.
