Benedict Cumberbatch Addresses His Future as Doctor Strange in the MCU

Benedict Cumberbatch seemingly hinted that he was gearing up for a comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The 47-year-old actor made his debut as Stephen Strange in 2016′s Doctor Strange. Since then, he’s appeared in multiple MCU pictures, including his most recent outing in 2022′s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

As questions continue to fly about the lineup of heroes that will be saving the day in the upcoming fifth Avengers movie, Benedict hinted that he might be suiting up again.

In promotion of his new Netflix project Eric, Benedict filmed a segment revisiting some of his most iconic roles. Of course, one of those is Doctor Strange, who he said is “very fun” to play.

Benedict noted that he had more plans to reprise the role in the future, saying, “I’m very much looking forward to Avengers next year, which is cooking up a storm.”

The fifth Avengers movie is currently mysterious to fans after plans to focus on Jonathan Majors‘ Kang as the ultimate villain fell apart.
