Arsenal are reportedly considering a sensational move that would see them take Karim Benzema on a short-term loan.

Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz have yet to convince when given the opportunity to play leading roles in a 2023-24 campaign which still promises a lot for the Gunners.

According to TEAMtalk, Mikel Arteta could pull off a coup for former French international Karim Benzema. The 36-year-old won the Ballon d’Or in 2022, before leaving European football by following his ex-Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo to the Middle East.

Manchester United have also been linked with Benzema, although an approach is considered unlikely, while Chelsea are another team who remain in the market for a proven number 9. They could pose the biggest threat to Arsenal’s London rivals if a deal goes through for the Ballon d’Or.
