Karim Benzema, Al-Ittihad’s star striker, is reunited with a compatriot in Saudi Arabia, far from imagining that he would see him again professionally in 2012.

After a first season far from being successful with the Al-Ittihad jersey (9 goals scored in the Saudi Arabian Championship), Karim Benzema knows that he must redeem himself. The French striker, Ballon d’Or 2022, hopes that the new coach of the Jeddah club, Laurent Blanc, will allow him to achieve his objectives.

Who would have imagined such a reunion when Blanc left his apron as coach of the Blues in 2012? Karim Benzema, 36 years old and 97 caps with the French team, worked under the orders of the “President” between 2010 and 2012.

On the new player side, we note the arrivals of Moussa Diaby, bought for 60 million euros from Aston Villa, Houssem Aouar (12 M€ – AS Roma) and goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic (8 M€ – Mallorca).
