Real Madrid full-back Ferland Mendy would be the target of Al-Ittihad under the recommendations of his compatriot Karim Benzema. This was stated by Eduardo Inda, head of the OkDiario media, in the El Chiringuito program on Monday.

Inda claims Benzema is in contact with his former Real teammate and is trying to convince him to join the Saudi Pro League giants.

Benzema takes on the role of sporting director

The journalist said: “Karim Benzema, who is the second highest paid player in the world, offered Ferland Mendy to join him. He asked Ferland Mendy to accompany him to Al-Ittihad next season.

It seems that the former Lyon player no longer seems very keen to continue his journey at the Bernabeu. “Mendy is asking for salary increases and he doesn’t like it very much at Real Madrid. It must be said that Alphonso Davies will be recruited (from Bayern Munich) and that he plays in the same position”. The French full-back’s contract with the Merengue extends until 2027.
