Sanctioned with two yellow cards and expelled on Sunday during OM-PSG (0-2, 27th day of Ligue 1), Lucas Beraldo received a two-match suspension.

Recruited this winter by Paris Saint-Germain, Lucas Beraldo immediately established himself as a starter in the mind of Luis Enrique. Present at the kick-off of the very first “Classic” of his career on Sunday evening between OM and PSG, the Parisian defender did not stay on the pitch for long. Sanctioned twice with a yellow biscuit, he was sent off in the thirty-eighth minute of play. It remained to be seen what his sanction would be. He received a two-match suspension.

The verdict fell late Wednesday afternoon. Meeting to rule in particular on the case of the Parisian, the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League therefore chose to exclude Beraldo from the field for two firm matches. Absent for the Coupe de France semi-final that his team is playing today against Stade Rennais, the Brazilian will also be in the stands of the Parc des Princes on Saturday for the reception of Clermont, this time as part of the twenty-eighth day of Ligue 1.

Return for Barça

In his absence, Luis Enrique will have a choice since Marquinhos and Milan Skriniar have returned to the group for several days. The PSG captain is also starting against Rennes this Wednesday while the Slovak is on the substitutes' bench.

Since joining Paris Saint-Germain on January 1, Lucas Beraldo has played sixteen games for 1,182 minutes played. He has already scored his very first goal in the colors of his new club during the quarter-final of the Coupe de France played and won on March 13 by PSG against Nice (3-1). If all goes well for him, he will return on April 10 for the clash of the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League against FC Barcelona.
