A world champion at Betis. In 2019, the Andalusian team rubbed its hands after the arrival of Nabil Fekir. Captain and leader of Olympique Lyonnais, the Frenchman agreed to join Real Betis Balompié, somewhat to everyone's surprise. Despite the failure of his transfer to Liverpool a year before, many saw him joining a club of a different caliber. But the native of Lyon was convinced by the Sevillian project. When you ask him the question, he admits that he has no regrets, he who feels good there, both on the green rectangle and with his family.

Despite everything, Fekir's name was often mentioned when it came time for the transfer window. He was notably linked for a time to FC Barcelona. Last winter, he was picked up by Saudi Arabia. Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad all approached the 2018 world champion, who was rather receptive. And it is Karim Benzema's club which was very close to securing his services as explained on our site. But the team based in Jeddah did not manage to part ways with Jota (an extra-community player, editor's note) in time and was unable to complete the Fekir file. The latter therefore remained in Seville.

Betis awaits offers

But in recent days, its future has once again been at the center of debate. This Monday, Estadio Deportivo explains that Betis has made its decision and will part ways with the 30-year-old Frenchman this summer. Despite his sporting and human qualities, and his significant commitment, the Spanish leaders believe that it is time to move on, especially since he has had a series of injuries (12 matches this season, 2 assists). They will therefore listen to offers for him and try to fill their coffers, while parting with a big salary. ED specifies that the footballer's starting price was set at 20 million euros. An amount equivalent to that claimed this winter as revealed by us.

Where will Fekir play? Last week, FotoMaç revealed that Galatasaray really appreciates the player and intends to position himself. But the Turks will have to have solid arguments to convince him because the player's priority is still to join the Saudi Pro League. Besides, Estadio Deportivo indicates that the Andalusian club is confident of receiving Saudi offers for Nabil Fekir. A player under contract until 2026 who should therefore have a change of scenery during the next summer transfer market. All that remains is to know its future destination.
