Bianca Belair and Montez Ford discuss the possibility of working together on WWE programming.
Later this week, Bianca Belair and Montez Ford will give a further glimpse into their relationship as they star in the new Hulu reality series, Love & WWE, which is set to premiere on February 2. While Belair and Ford are ready to showcase their dynamic on reality television, how would they feel about bringing their relationship to the forefront of a WWE storyline?
During an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, the couple noted that they’d be open to the idea under certain circumstances.
“I think, just for now, we’re on our own personal journeys,” Belair said. “There’s things that I want to accomplish on my own. There’s things that he wants to accomplish on his own. I think that once we both do that, feel like we’re maybe at the mountain top, then maybe like we’ll meet together and be even bigger and better and then we have new goals.”
“We don’t have an issue with [having the relationship brought into WWE programming]. My thing is just like if we get together, I want to be creative,” Belair continued. “I want to be in there fighting together for titles, and over titles. I’m not trying to be in a having a storyline fighting over my man, ’cause I’m not fighting for something that’s mine. And it’s 2024, women, we not fighting over men anymore.”
Storyline Visions
When envisioning what their potential storyline could look like, Ford said that he’d be interested in creating an angle similar to that of Booker T and Sharmell, specifically after Booker became the 2006 King of the Ring.
“I want to do something along the scale of Booker T and Sharmell,” Ford said. “He was King Booker and he was the World Heavyweight Champion, and she was just like this stoic figure that made sure their kingdom was intact. She was just as much as important in that ring as he was, so something along those lines. Upping the ante a little bit, he had the world title, I can have the world title. [Bianca] can have the world title at the same time.”
