Big Brother Mzansi: McJunior emerges champions, wins $105,717.19 grand prize

The South African version of the international reality television franchise, Big Brother Mzansi 4 yesterday came to an end with a housemate McJunior emerging as winner.

He defeated other finalists on Sunday to walk home with the R2 million ($105,717.19) grand prize.

McJunior got 34.50 per cent of the viewers’ votes against his closest rival, Makhekhe (34.43 per cent), Zee (14.04 per cent), Sinaye (7.86 per cent), Mpumi (5.81 per cent), and Papaghost (3.36 per cent).

Only seven out of 23 housemates reached the final stage to which McJunior emerge champions.

23 housemates entered the house to vie for the grand prize in January but only seven of them made it to the finals with McJunior emerging victorious by slim margin.

A housemate, Bravo B, was earlier disqualified from the reality show over a derogatory comment.

The reality show which began in January 2024 was on for three months with 23 housemates vying for the grand prize of R2 million ($105,717.19).
