Former WWE Champion Big E has been very active outside of professional wrestling with his project ‘Our Heroes Rock‘. Recently he shared his experience in voice acting for one of the characters in the series as well.

Big E was interviewed by Sarah O’Connell recently. While discussing a variety of topics, one that popped up was his experience voice acting for his own creation. He voiced the character E-Tour on the short film Bridges. The former WWE Champion had so much fun playing the character. He also shared his experience playing a role in Lazor Wulf.

“A blast. Just a blast. I have so much admiration and love for my partner, Johnny Davenport. He just created, to me, the perfect character for me. But, I love getting to be part of anything like this. I have done some voice acting in the past. Got to do a show called Lazor Wulf on Adult Swim. That was a ton of fun. We got a couple of seasons there And I just really wanted to do more voice acting.

“And then, this opportunity came along and it was so much fun. We got to go to a studio here in Tampa. And just getting… Like, he directed me and we work through the lines and everything. And it… Just so happy with the performance. But yeah, it really is something that I really love. I really do love.”

Big E wants to be like LeVar Burton

E also mentioned that he aspires to be a kids’ entertainer. He also wants to create an impact, just like LeVar Burton did with Reading Rainbow.

“As I’ve gotten older in my profession, I have loved so much that I am a kids entertainer. Yeah, I would entertain everyone, but an opportunity to make kids laugh, bring them more color, you know… We’re always… We bring the silliness, we bring the nonsense. But I really… My dream, when I think about it, I think about the impact like someone like LeVar Burton had on young people and their love for reading. And I think to me, as an entertainer, that’s my pie in the sky. Dream goal is to be a voice for a generation that helps teach them how important education is. How important empathy is, how important kindness is, just all these things,” Big E said.

Big E on what being a man really is

“And too often we get these messages about… You know all of us. But for young boys and young men too, about what it means to be a man. And so many of them get awful messages about what that means. And my hope is that someone can see me, someone who has played football, someone who’s been in the ring. In many ways I like to think I’m a manly man. I go some muscles on me. But that’s not what makes you a man. Being a provider for your family, being there for your loved ones.

“Standing up when you see things are wrong. Being there for people who are weak, being there for people who aren’t able to protect themselves, being there for people who are marginalized. That to me is what a man is. That’s what a man does. A man stands up and does the right thing. Even when it’s not the popular decision, you stand up for people. And that’s my hope, is that we’re able to get more of that messages across. Because there are too many toxic messages of what it means to be a man. And so many are being led astray. But yeah. That really is my goal, is to show people that yeah, there is Beauty in being kind. There is beauty in doing the right thing. Life is hard enough as it is.”
