The capital club could register a significant reinforcement for the round of 16 of the Champions League against Real Sociedad.

If the winter transfer window closed its doors on Thursday evening at midnight, Paris Saint-Germain may not have finished expanding in view of the next deadlines. The most important one will arrive very quickly, since like every year, the capital club is approaching a turning point in its season with the round of 16 of the Champions League, the first leg of which is scheduled for February 14, Valentine’s Day, against Real Sociedad.

Luis Enrique has had to deal with a completely decimated defensive sector for many months. Milan Skriniar and Presnel Kimpembe should no longer be on the pitch this season. Another long-term absentee, Nuno Mendes would see the end of the tunnel. According to information from RMC Sport, there is optimism within the ranks of the Parisian staff regarding the Portuguese left-back.

The best winter reinforcement for PSG?

We have to go back to April 30, 2023 to find any trace of an appearance by Nuno Mendes. The left back has returned to training with the group. RMC Sport thus specifies that if PSG will not take any risks with Nuno Mendes, the club would really be convinced that the defender could be operational for one of the two confrontations against Real Sociedad. Too tight for the first leg, Nuno Mendes would consider a comeback for the second round, in the Basque Country, on March 5. For Paris, it would perhaps be the best reinforcement of the winter.
