Olympique Lyonnais have confirmed the transfer of Jake O’Brien to Everton, which will bring in a nice sum for the Rhone club.

Jake O’Brien’s Lyon adventure only lasted one year. The Irish defender, who arrived last summer from Crystal Palace, is heading to Everton.

“The last 12 months have changed my life. You took me under your wing from the moment I walked through the door, wrote O’Brien on his Instagram account to thank the Gones supporters. We have created memories this season that will never be forgotten. From the start of the season to our European qualification and then the Coupe de France final, this chapter has been special. I can never thank everyone enough for how you have made me feel this season. The fans, the staff, the teammates and the people of Lyon. It is a special place to play football.

In this story, OL is making a very nice financial move. Recruited for 1 million euros, O’Brien is leaving the club for an amount of 19.5 million euros to which a 10% interest on the capital gain of a possible transfer could be added.
