Billy Gunn has tried to get Chuck Palumbo to appear in AEW.

The pair were one of the most controversial tag teams in WWE history in the mid-2000s. “Billy and Chuck” portrayed the pair as gay partners, which was progressive for the time. However, it was later revealed at their “wedding” that it was all a ruse, and the pair weren’t actually gay.

There have been calls for Palumbo to appear alongside Daddy Ass in AEW, but the former WWE star has failed to appear in any capacity in the promotion so far.

Billy Gunn spoke with Chris Van Vliet, who asked about why Palumbo hasn’t appeared in AEW.

The WWE Hall of Famer said that he’s asked him, but Palumbo is simply too busy with his businesses to make appearances. He revealed that The Acclaimed wanted him to appear at Billy Gunn’s “Daddy Ass Birthday Bash” celebration, claiming Anthony Bowens is a big fan of his.

“Because he just, he has no desire right now. He’s got all his other stuff going on. I’ve asked him to do a couple things. It’s not that he won’t do it for me, he just doesn’t—it’s just not him anymore. This feels like it’d be a fun one-off. Yeah, it would.”

“The boys wanted him to come do my birthday celebration when we did the birthday thing. But I called, asked him, and he just… he’s got so much other stuff going on that he’s okay not doing any of it. And I get it. Anthony loves him, you. But I mean, they do. They love Chuck, and he’s such a good guy. I know he would do it if he could, but he got the motorcycle thing, he’s got the car thing, he’s got all kinds of things going on.”
