Warangal: The Congress and BRS leaders in Warangal have been arguing over who deserves credit for the construction of the Naim Nagar Bridge. However, the BJP has stepped in, mocking both parties by pointing out that the BJP-led Central Government provided 50% of the funds for the project.

BJP leaders, including Hanumakonda district president Rao Padma and former MLA Marthineni Dharma Rao, inspected the bridge on Wednesday. They emphasized that the bridge was built using funds from the Central Government’s Smart City Mission and the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). They found it absurd that Congress MLA Naini Rajender Reddy and former BRS MLA D Vinay Bhaskar were fighting over credit for the bridge, even though the Central Government played a major role.

Rao Padma criticized the Congress and BRS leaders, stating that Warangal’s development heavily depends on Central funding. She reminded everyone that the Centre contributed 50% of the funds for the Naim Nagar Bridge and said that neither Naini nor Vinay had personally contributed much to Warangal’s progress.

She also pointed out that MLA Naini had promised to expose land-grabbing activities by BRS leaders within 100 days but has yet to fulfill that pledge. She mentioned the lack of action in protecting Kakatiya University land from encroachments and urged the government to complete the road over bridge (ROB) at Fathima Nagar. Additionally, she demanded the local MLA distribute double-bedroom houses to the poor before the upcoming Dasara festival.

Former MLA Marthineni Dharma Rao added that the Congress should work on acquiring land for the Mamnoor Airport, which he said is crucial for Warangal’s development. He promised that the BJP would revive the airport within three months if the land acquisition process is completed.

Earlier, BJP leaders paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 155th birth anniversary at the Public Gardens. Senior leaders like Chada Srinivas Reddy, Kolanu Santhosh Reddy, K Jithender Reddy, Chada Swathi, and Gujjula Vasantha were also present at the event.
