The first person who was announced to be an inductee into the 2024 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame was Paul Heyman. The founding father of ECW will be inducted in the birthplace of ECW, Philadelphia. Former ECW star, the Blue Meanie, recently shared why Heyman’s Hall of Fame induction was a bit of a surprise to him.

Heyman has achieved so much and has contributed a lot to the art of professional wrestling. But even Heyman turned down the Hall of Fame induction on multiple occasions, claiming that he still has a lot more to achieve in professional wrestling.

While speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, The Blue Meanie revealed that he was caught by surprise that Heyman agreed to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. He also mentioned that the Wiseman probably feels like he is just getting started in WWE.

“Because, knowing Paul, Paul’s probably thinking, ‘Hey, I’m just getting started. My career’s not over; I’m still active. To Paul, his best work is still yet to come. And to go in this early, to him, I think he would have maybe fought it. But Paul’s been a huge part of my career, a huge part of my life. I don’t know where I would be in my life without pro wrestling. And I certainly don’t know where I would have been if Raven and Stevie [Richards] hadn’t presented me to Paul, [and] if Paul hadn’t gone, ‘Yeah, let’s give this kid a try.’ And not only did he give me a try, he allowed me to make mistakes and learn from mistakes,” The Blue Meanie said.
