Popular controversial cross-dresser Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju, better known as Bobrisky, has denied claims he had paid operatives of the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) N15,000,000 to drop money laundering charges against him.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) earlier reported that Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the EFCC ordered an immediate investigation into alleged bribery allegations purportedly levelled against some officers of the Commission by Idris Okuneye (a.ka.a Bobrisky) in a viral audio released by social activist, Very Dark Man.
Bobrisky, in a now-viral video of his phone call with Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, alleged that certain EFCC officers extorted N15 million from him in exchange for dropping money laundering charges against him.
According to him, EFCC operatives demanded that he pay N15 million before the charges filed against him could be withdrawn.
He said, “They charged me to court. So we begged them that if they want to remove the money laundering, how much will they collect, and they said we should go and bring N15 Million so that they would remove the money laundering.”
Both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan have been invited to the EFCC’s Lagos office to assist in the investigation.
However, he denied the allegation, insinuating that the audio recording was fake.
In his words: “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that i paid EFFC 15 million naira, and that i was never in prison..
“I didnt pay any efcc money. it is a very big lie. I served my term in full and i came out. Discard any false information. Imagining believing someone that came out publicly to tell us that you paid a hacker to track someone phone which is against d law can be desperate to do anything at dis point. I didn’t give EFCC any money.”
