Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has disclosed that Nigerians will still criticize the team even if Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is appointed as manager.
The Bayer Leverkusen star, who is currently with the senior national team in Uyo preparing for the game against Benin in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday, stated this in a chat with the Football Fans Tribe.

“The truth is even if we bring Guardiola, Nigerians will still have something to say, but I’m a type of person that doesn’t care about what people think because we’re not here with the team.
“Our job is to give it all on the pitch, and that’s it. It’s life. People will always criticize. So, no matter which coach you bring, people always have something to say,” the former Union Saint-Gilloise striker told Football Fans Tribe in an interview.
Despite the AFCON 2013 victory Nigeria had under the late Stephen Keshi, several football fans in the country do not believe a home-based coach should be in charge of such a talented team, as they trust a foreign eye would harness the goods of the team.
