Booker T is never going to retire in the traditional sense.
The WWE Hall of Famer has been wrestling since 1986, although his matches have become less frequent. Booker T has been busy running his Reality of Wrestling promotion, as well as working as a commentator for NXT.
He has not ruled out a return to the ring, although only under two different circumstances.
Booker T spoke with Chris Van Vliet recently. He was asked if he has another wrestling match in his. The former WCW Champion noted that he is never going to retire, and will continue to wrestle for Reality of Wrestling going forward.
However, he did joke that if Saudi Arabia came calling, he’d lace up his boots for the WWE one more time. He named Trick Williams as a potential opponent for that bout, a man who has wanted a match with Booker T for some time.
“I’m definitely going to get back in the ring at some point in time and do something. I mean, it’s just going to be here. It’s going to be here—Reality of Wrestling or in Saudi. [Laughs] We can make that happen, Trick Williams.”
Booker T: I’m Not Doing Any More Royal Rumbles
Despite not retiring, Booker T is unlikely to appear in the Royal Rumble again.
The six-time World Champion appeared as a surprise entrant in the 2011, 2012 and 2023 Royal Rumble matches. While these were great moments, he is not looking to appear in the Rumble again for the WWE.
“I think that spot was a great swan song for me. Doing it at that time, you know, the fans were definitely… it was one of those unexpected entries. It was a moment, and it’s kind of hard to really create those moments and duplicate those kinds of moments, replicate that. So I think, for me, Rumble… I’m not looking to do any more Rumbles.”
