This followed the fifteenth tie of the third round having played out.

Liverpool winning 5-1 at Anfield against West Ham, the the draw taking place.

Arsenal a similarly comfortable passage through on the same night, 5-1 against Bolton.

However, there were 17 clubs left in the competition when last night’s fourth round draw was made.

With Newcastle United and AFC Wimbledon not playing their third round game until Tuesday, after their game was postponed and moved to St James’ Park, due to flood damage at Plough Lane.
