With Borussia Dortmund, Nico Schlotterbeck established himself as one of the best defenders in Europe last season. After a formidable Champions League campaign with the Ruhr club, the former Freiburg player has made serious progress since his arrival at Signal Iduna Park in 2022. Present at Euro 2024 with the Mannschaft, the 24-year-old defender has also seen his stock skyrocket. However, the interested party wanted to be clear about his future.

Asked by Sky Germany, the left-hander affirmed his desire to stay at Borussia Dortmund in the coming seasons: “At some point I would probably be tempted to go abroad, but I’ve been here for two years now and I’ve identified so much with BVB that I’m really excited to play my third season here, and probably fourth and fifth as well.“The message has been received and must delight BVB supporters.
