Oleksandr Zinchenko is attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal are open to offers for the versatile player in the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old joined the Gunners from Manchester City in 2022 and was quickly a regular in the first-team, mainly playing at left-back.
However, he has fallen down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta and has started just two Premier League games so far this season.
Injury problems have not helped the Ukrainian, but form has also been a concern and he now appears to be dispensable at the Emirates.
The Evening Standard report that Dortmund are interested in making a bid for Zinchenko this month as they search for a new left-back.
The German club were tracking Chelsea youngster Renato Veiga but he is making a loan move to Juventus instead.
Dortmund are now turning their attention to Zinchenko, who is into the final 18 months of his contract at Arsenal, with no sign of a new deal being signed.
Arsenal are dealing with a number of injury issues currently, including in defence, which could put them off letting the Ukrainian leave.
Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are currently out, while William Saliba and Myles Lewis-Skelly are also struggling with injuries but are close to returns.
However, the Gunners are reportedly open to offers for Zinchenko this month.
Arsenal are keen to bring in a player this month, with Arteta saying the club is ‘actively looking’ for a forward after serious injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.
‘My opinion is clear,’ Arteta told a press conference. ‘We lost two very important players in Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, so we lack goals, people, and options in the front line.
‘It’s clear that for the period that we have lost them, ideally we need some help, because we were short already and we’re even shorter. The team has still coped with that but we have do what is right for the club.
‘If we can get the right player, that’s what we are actively looking at, but any player – no, we need someone that makes us better and makes an impact on the team.
‘We have very, very short numbers for many, many weeks and they recognise the situation, we all do. That’s why we are trying to do what is right for the club, the team, that’s our intention.’
