Iraola replaced Gary O'Neil in the dugout before guiding the club to a 12th place finish last season.

Bournemouth are currently set to finish even higher this term despite a recent dip in form.

Their performances have even seen Iraola linked with a move to Tottenham in recent weeks.

However, Senesi hopes he can continue to play under his current manager for the foreseeable future.

Speaking to White & Jordan, the Argentine defender was asked if Iraola can go on to manage a 'huge' club next.

Senesi explained: "I think he’s doing brilliant here. He has the potential to go to other clubs 100 per cent but hopefully he will stay with us."

The 27-year-old has recently returned to action following a lengthy injury lay-off.

He had been sidelined with a hamstring issue since November, missing a total of 21 matches across all competitions.

In Senesi's absence, Dean Huijsen has emerged as one of Bournemouth's standout players.

The promising centre-back, who signed from Juventus last summer, has scored twice from defence in 28 appearances for the Cherries.

Huijsen also made his senior international debut for Spain last month.

His displays for club and country have made the 19-year-old one of Europe's most in demand players, with Real Madrid reportedly amongst the interested parties.

Senesi hailed the teenager after he was asked whether Huijsen can go on to play in the Champions League during his career.

He revealed: "Everyone has seen what he has done so far this season and the impact he has had on the team. He’s doing well and his future is bright.

"He is also in the Spain national team so I wish him all the best for whatever comes. I think he’s doing brilliant and you never know how the season finishes."

Having returned from injury last weekend, Senesi is in contention for Bournemouth's clash with West Ham on Saturday.

The Cherries will be looking to end their five-match Premier League winless run, which includes four losses.

Despite those results, Iraola's side remain 10th in the table and firmly in the hunt for European football.

A top eight finish looks set to be enough to guarantee qualification for next season for Bournemouth.

Such a final position would also surpass the club's best league finish of ninth back in 2017 under Eddie Howe.
