Bradley Cooper recalls walking in on Jay-Z watching ‘Judge Judy’ during ‘crazy’ meeting with Beyoncé

Bradley Cooper outed Jay-Z as a “Judge Judy” fan while recalling a business meeting he once had with Beyoncé at the power couple’s mansion.

“I went to Beyoncé’s house, and Jay-Z was watching ‘Judge Judy,'” the Oscar nominee told “Sunday Today” anchor Willie Geist on Feb. 6 during a SAG-AFTRA Foundation interview in New York.

“I still remember. Yeah, I’m not kidding,” he added. “And I was freaking out.”

Cooper, 49, explained that he had gone to the “Crazy in Love” collaborators’ home to pitch “A Star Is Born” to Beyoncé, 42, before the lead role went to Lady Gaga.

“It was crazy,” he remembered. “[Beyoncé] was incredible, and so was [Jay], and we developed it for, like, a year together. I mean, she’s one of the greatest people of all time.”

While initial reports said Beyoncé had dropped out of the film due to her busy schedule, a Hollywood insider told Page Six exclusively in 2016 that the “Hold Up” singer “wanted too much money, and Warner Bros. balked at her price.”

Sources also told us at the time that while Cooper was disappointed about Beyoncé falling through, he felt reinvigorated to press forward with the project once Gaga, 37, showed interest.

“Bradley flew out to direct Gaga in the audition himself, and she knocked it out of the park. Then he personally took the tape to Warner Bros. to get approval,” one insider shared.

The casting ultimately paid off, as “A Star Is Born” went on to win numerous awards, including an Oscar and a Grammy for Cooper and Gaga’s song “Shallow.”

The “Hangover” star directed, co-wrote and starred in the 2018 musical drama.

It was the fourth adaptation of the 1937 classic starring Janet Gaynor; Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand led the 1954 and 1976 remakes, respectively.
