The Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State has again been targeted in an attack believed to be carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Reports indicate that the assault, which took place late on Sunday evening, resulted in fatalities and left many others critically wounded. According to sources, the assailants targeted mourners in the Ugwuijoro Nimbo community, causing devastation and grief.

Among those tragically killed, whose lifeless bodies were on the ground, were identified as Okeh Simon Ugwu Oruku, Okeh Chukwuebuka, Julius Ogbonna Odiegwu, and Gabriel Ugwor Ezea. A disturbing video seen by DAILY POST on Monday morning depicted an eerie silence enveloping the community, with evidence of chaos and violence evident.

The footage revealed a scene of chaos, with overturned tables and chairs scattered across a compound where mourners had gathered. Lifeless bodies lay in pools of blood, a stark reminder of the brutality inflicted upon the villagers.

This is not the first time Nimbo has faced such brutality; it was similarly attacked in 2016, resulting in significant loss of life and sparking national outrage.

Despite attempts to reach out for official comment, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe of the Enugu State Command, has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the latest tragic incident.
