The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) led by Pastor Adeboye has invited members of the public to present any relevant evidence concerning allegations of sexual misconduct against two of its youth ministers.
In a memo dated October 28, 2024, RCCG announced the indefinite suspension of these ministers while investigations are underway.
Signed by the church’s national overseer, Sunday Akande, the memo stressed that the RCCG does not condone any form of homosexuality, referencing biblical teachings to clarify its doctrinal stance. Akande confirmed that the church is committed to a thorough investigation and called on anyone with substantiated evidence to come forward to assist the process.
To facilitate the gathering of information, RCCG has provided an email ([email protected]) and a phone number (09039000700) for submitting relevant details, emphasizing that only credible evidence will be reviewed.
Ayorinde AdeBello, one of the suspended pastors, has publicly denied the accusations, stating he has never been involved in any inappropriate conduct with male teenagers. He explained that his silence on the matter had been misconstrued as an “admission of guilt,” prompting him to clarify. AdeBello also addressed a viral WhatsApp message screenshot, asserting it was taken out of context and was part of a discussion on male reproductive health and self-esteem within a group for teenage boys.
RCCG’s recent statement, reported by ChurchTimes, underscores the church’s dedication to addressing these allegations transparently while upholding its values.
