Manchester City can take back control of the Premier League title race tonight with a win at Brentford, which would take them two points off the top of the table with a game in hand.

Pep Guardiola's side make the trip to the capital having won their last eight matches in all competitions, and have the huge opportunity to capitalise on Liverpool's defeat at Arsenal on the weekend, which leaves them five points off the Reds having played two games fewer.

Last season's treble winners are bidding to become the first team in the history of English football to win four consecutive league titles, which, should they win, will also be their sixth Premier League crown in the last seven years.

The Citizens boast the best record away from home in the league this season, and will be add to another three points to that tally tonight.

Brentford prepare for their visit of Manchester City tonight having won just one of their last nine matches, a run of form which has seen them drop into the relegation battle.

Wednesday night's defeat at Tottenham in a London derby, coupled with the weekend's results, leaves Thomas Frank's side currently just three points ahead of bottom three as they bid to stay in the Premier League next season for a fourth term.

The Bees are, however, unbeaten in their last two matches at home, and in three of their last five at the Gtech Community Stadium, and have recently benefitted from the return of Ivan Toney, their star striker, from an eight-month ban, who has scored in both matches since his return.

Brentford were surprisingly the only team to complete the double over Manchester City last season in their treble-winning campaign, and will be hoping their recent winning record over the title chasers can continue through tonight.
