Stade Brestois coach Eric Roy did not spare his players after the defeat conceded to Lens (2-0) on Sunday in Ligue 1.

There is already an emergency in Brest. Third in Ligue 1 last season, SB329 started the new season with two very worrying defeats, at home against OM last weekend (1-5) and on the Lens pitch on Sunday (2-0). Enough to annoy Eric Roy who, after the setback against the Blood and Gold, expressed his discontent at a press conference.

“The first half was very disappointing with a bad start. We had warned the players. We wanted to be much more involved in the match by advancing on the opponent, by putting the ball behind their backs. When you don’t win a duel in the first half, when you have a restrictive, negative game, you are punished.”analyzed the coach of the Breton club.

“Many players are not up to standard”

“We did not respect the game plan that we wanted to put in placehe continued, before tackling some of his protégés. We are a bit stretched on the squad but we will continue to work. The players also need to become aware of their current level and question themselves. Many players are not at the level of last season.”
