Britney Spears’ on-again, off-again boyfriend, Paul Richard Soliz, filed a restraining order request against his ex-mother-in-law, claiming he’s a victim of “emotional abuse.” But she claims he’s a “deadbeat.”
Los Angeles Superior Court of California docs publicly filed in September and exclusively obtained by Page Six Tuesday claim the father of nine accused Sandra Smith of attempting to kidnap his and ex Nicole Mancilla’s 2-year-old daughter, Violet, when he went to pick up the children at his ex’s home.
Soliz and Mancilla share three other children — sons Trystan, 9, Dylan, 8, and Nicholas, 6.
Per the court filed docs, Trystan and Dylan were “frantically” screaming during the Sept. 9 incident and allegedly told Soliz, “Grandma won’t let the baby [Violet] leave.”
“As I was walking toward the door, Sandra Smith [grandmother] pushed my son Nicholas out of the door and slammed it shut behind him,” Spears’ boyfriend, 38, claimed in the filing. “She then yelled through the door, ‘She is my daughter’s baby not yours!'”
Britney Spears’ boyfriend, Paul Richard Soliz, is in a nasty custody battle with his estranged wife. Coleman-Raynor The handyman has been dating Spears on and off since 2023.Soliz claimed he called the Los Angeles Police Department shortly after for them to “help” him get his youngest child, but it appears he did not wait for officers to arrive.
He claimed he took his sons home because it was a “school night” and he “didn’t want them to be subjected to anymore abuse and yelling as Sandra was threatening to lie to the police and have me arrested,” per the request, which was ultimately dismissed this week.
Page Six has been unable to reach Smith for comment. However, she described the alleged incident from her perspective in an interview with “The Drew Lane Show” Friday.
“He took three of the kids … so we’re trying to get those kids back,” she claimed on the radio show. “He’s sending me to court for domestic violence … I go, ‘Excuse me?’ I don’t even talk to him. He’s crazy.”
Smith admitted in the interview, however that after Soliz dropped off four of the kids he shares with Mancilla for a visit, she “kept the baby girl” because the dad allegedly “never bonded with that little girl.”
Soliz began his romance with Spears amid her divorce from Sam Asghari. samasghari/Instagram Soliz, seen here with Spears after an incident at Chateau Marmont in May, has been accused of being a “deadbeat.” BACKGRIDPage Six obtained a copy of Smith’s publicly filed response to the restraining order request, in which she alleged, “The information contained in the request is faulse [sic] and fully fabricated.”
She also alleged that Soliz was seeking the order to take custody of the kids to not pay child support and that he allegedly has a history of violence with his girlfriend — but those claims appear crossed out.
Soliz, meanwhile, further alleged in his request that Smith is only retaliating against him because she blames him for his ex-wife’s “mental health deteriorating.”
The maintenance worker — whom Page Six exclusively reported in August 2023 was “getting close” to Spears amid her divorce from Sam Asghari — shared in the domestic violence restraining order request against Smith a series of texts Mancilla purportedly sent.
In the messages, listed as “Exhibit A” and which Page Six reviewed, Mancilla purportedly claims she is suicidal and appears to make threats to kill members of her family.
Texts Mancilla purportedly sent were filed as “Exhibit A” in Soliz’s request for domestic violence restraining order, which Page Six obtained. “All you guys did was make me numb and completely comfortable to never see my kids again. I don’t give a f–k about them anymore.”
Soliz then allegedly responds in the same text thread, “I’ve got boys. Get some help Nikki,” prompting Mancilla to purportedly respond by saying she’s “good” and proceeds to call her mom a “demon.”
Another text included in the request shows “Nikki” allegedly saying sometime before Aug. 11, 2024, that she’s “sorry” she can’t “stop smoking n using drugs” and telling Soliz she “never stopped loving” him.
In a separate thread in the request, Mancilla purportedly accuses her mother of being physically abusive, claiming Smith “threw a chair” at her.
She also claims in a text listed in the court docs that she was “homeless,” to which Soliz replies, “So am I.”
Both Soliz and Mancilla allegedly claimed they were “homeless” in a text exchange filed as “Exhibit A” in Soliz’s request for domestic violence restraining order, which Page Six obtained. Sources tell Page Six that Mancilla has allegedly struggled with addiction issues for years. The text above, which appears to corroborate those claims, were filed as “Exhibit A” in Soliz’s request for domestic violence restraining order, which Page Six obtained.A source tells Page Six that Soliz does not reside with Spears despite rumors that he lives with her.
Another text provided in the court docs, which was sent on Aug. 10, 2024, shows “Nikki” asking how her kids are doing, claiming she tried to “order a tent” to sleep at a church because she got “turned away” from two shelters on Skid Row.
“Gonna try calling around for a monthly motel first … I’m trying to fix it to have all my babies,” she adds in the message.
In another message listed as “Exhibit A,” “Nikki” appears to angrily reference Spears, 42, writing, “Now that’s why she [sings] you better work bitches!!! Always thought she was ugly filters or not.”
Page Six also spoke to a second source, who is a relative of Soliz, who also claims that Mancilla has a history of mental health and addiction issues

“[Mancilla] is in a very healthy place,” the insider claims. “She has made constant threats to her own life and the children as well. [Smith] is also very toxic.”
The family member staunchly defends Soliz, saying he is a “good father.”
Referencing his criminal record, which includes a dismissed child endangerment charge in 2014, the insider adds, “[Soliz] paid his debt to society and Nicole’s family use[s] that to their advantage.”
Mancilla filed to divorce Soliz earlier this month after eight years of marriage. Prior to filing the paperwork, however, she claimed her ex cheated on her with Spears.
“My husband fell in Britney Spears’ p—y,” she told the Daily Mail in May. “He was married, and now he denies his children. He neglects his children for her.”
Despite Mancilla’s allegations, Soliz has been spotted spending time with his children while with Spears.
In August, the pop superstar and her housekeeper-turned-beau were seen having a blast with three of his kids at a Sky Zone in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Spears has been seen spending time with soem of Soliz’s children. TMZ The pop star — who has two kids of her own — went to a Sky Zone in August with Soliz’s children. TMZSmith claimed in her recent radio interview that Spears “wants” Soliz’s children for herself, claiming, “She said she wants all of them. She wants that little girl [Violet], too.”
Page Six has reached out to Spears’ rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
However, a source tells us, “That’s delusional. They spent time together, but [Spears] knows that Nicole is the kids’ mom. [She] never tried to take her place.”
We’re told that Soliz is looking to pursue legal action against his ex-mother-in-law.
The father of nine added in his restraining order request that he and his sons have been dealing with “stress, anxiety and fear” as a result of these issues, per court docs.
“They are saddened and concerned for their sister every day and Sandra Smith is the direct cause for their necessary and ongoing mental anguish,” Soliz further alleges in the court docs.
“Sandra taking my daughter is a constant mental and emotional disturbance. I blame myself for allowing her to have an unsupervised visit with them.”

Soliz’s family member concludes to Page Six, “Paul is not the bad guy they paint him out to be. He does have a past but so does [Mancilla] and her mom.”
On Monday, a judge denied Soliz’s request to make the temporary restraining order permanent, citing that he “did not sustain the applicable burden of proof” and therefore the request was “dissolved.”
