Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has always had an eye for a goal against Aston Villa.

Unai Emery’s side will be wary of the threat he poses in the final third later today when the two teams take to the pitch at Villa Park.

The Reds are looking for a fourth consecutive win in all competitions for the first time this season. It is crucial for the team’s momentum that we get all three points, especially if our objective is to be playing in the Champions League next season.

That aim becomes a stretch if Villa take all three points because they will move 11 points clear of United in the league table. However, their form has been patchy and we’ve got reasons to be going into the game with optimism and we’ve haven’t always been able to say that this season.

Furthermore United have scored 11 times in their run to three wins, having previously only managed 10 goals in as many games. Hopefully they can build on that today with a convincing win over Villa.

It will come as a huge boost if Fernandes can continue his incredible goalscoring record – for a midfielder – against Villa.

The Portugal international has scored a goal on all three visits to Villa Park and has seven goals in total in this fixture home and away.

C’mon Bruno, give us another cheer or two at Villa Park. It’s a big day for United!
