The NUFC talisman revealing that he is now part of the senior Newcastle United leadership group and wants to pay back Eddie Howe and the fans, for the faith they put in him. Howe having also made Bruno Guimaraes his starting captain for the first time, against Yokohama F Marinos in Japan.
Bruno Guimaraes also keen to make clear what nonsense has filled the media this summer.

“I am very happy [at Newcastle United].
“I never said I would like to leave.
“I always said I would like to put my name in the club’s history.”
Bruno Guimaraes telling Sky Sports about the responsibility he is embracing as part of senior Newcastle United leadership group, as well as having started his first ever match as NUFC captain out in Japan:
“I have always been a leader.
“But it is a big challenge because English isn’t my first language.
“The leader isn’t just who wears the armband.
“But [also] the person who fights for the club in many, many ways.
“For example, I missed just one game last season.
“I have been captain at Athletico Paranaense, Brazil Youths and at Lyon.
“The gaffer (Eddie Howe) has given me a big responsibility and I want to deliver something for him and the fans.”
