Bryan Danielson addressed the crowd after the end of AEW Dynamite.

The AEW Champion defeated Kazuchika Okada in the main event of the show last night. Wheeler Yuta then joined Danielson’s side, turning his back on the Blackpool Combat Club.

Bryan Danielson spoke to the crowd following AEW Dynamite. He thanked Tony Khan and the fans, calling AEW the “best wrestling company in the world”.

He also said that the Pittsburgh crowd made him a WrestleMania main eventer, following their hijacking of the match at the 2014 Royal Rumble.

Bryan Danielson speaks to the Pittsburgh crowd

“First of all, I’d like to thank Tony Khan, without whom I wouldn’t be here, and you wouldn’t have an alternative. It is better that AEW exists—for the wrestlers, for the production people, and for professional wrestling fans.

“I first wrestled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 23 years ago, and I don’t know if you guys remember, but you were the crowd that made me into a WrestleMania main eventer. So, I just wanted to say thank you, Pittsburgh.

“And last but certainly not least, I want to thank all the men and women in the back, because they’re the ones who made this place so great that I had a lifetime job at WWE, and I chose—I chose to come here because this is where the best wrestlers in the world are, the best fans in the world, and this is the best wrestling company in the world.

“Now, next week, check out WrestleDream, because at WrestleDream in Tacoma, Washington, I am going to kick Jon Moxley’s fucking head in!”

Danielson closed Wednesday’s show standing tall with Wheeler Yuta after he beat Kazuchika Okada, and staved off an attack by Jon Moxley. Catch up on the full results from this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite here.

Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta will now team up against Claudio Castagnoli and PAC on AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday.
