Bryan Danielson‘s quest to win the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament continues.

At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Bryan Danielson battled Shingo Takagi in an Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Quarterfinal match. “The American Dragon” clashed with “The Rampage Dragon” in a dream match that was years in the making.

The two stars battled it out in a hard-fought bout that featured stiff strikes and grueling submissions from both competitors. Danielson seemingly hurt his neck when Takagi slammed him on the floor, but he kept fighting. He kicked out of the Made in Japan, but Takagi kicked out of Danielson’s signature knee as well. In the end, Danielson tapped Takagi in an arm-bar and wrenched it until the referee called for the bell.

With the win, Danielson advanced to the next round. He will face PAC in the semi-finals on the July 3 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Danielson goes for an arm-bar and transitions to a triangle sleeper. Takagi powers out of it and slams Danielson. Takagi hits a superplex, and both men are down. He gets a two-count with a lariat. Danielson tries to rally but eats another lariat. Takagi hits Made in Japan for a two-count. Danielson keeps fighting, but Takagi blasts him with an elbow to the head. Danielson fires up and locks in an arm-bar. Takagi evades the LeBell Lock, and they trade blows. Danielson blasts him with a kick. He hits the running knee for a two-count. Danielson stomps Takagi and hits some elbows and locks in an arm-bar, forcing the referee to call for the bell.
