Unlike other champions, Bryan Danielson does not sleep with his title.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso for Undisputed, AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson briefly commented on how some champions taking their title to bed with them.
“I don’t need to sleep with it [laughs]. I’d much rather be sleeping with my wife,” Bryan Danielson said. “Can you imagine if this big, heavy championship was between us? She’d make me go sleep on the couch.”
Danielson’s wife, Nikki Garcia, and their children were in attendance for his title win at AEW All In. There, Danielson put his career on the line and beat Swerve Strickland to win the gold. The family celebrated together after the match, both in the ring and the next day.
“I didn’t have media the next morning like I did 10 years ago when I won the belt after WrestleMania 30 or Raw the next night, so that was different,” Bryan Danielson said. “This time, I didn’t sleep well. My body was in a decent amount of pain. But the kids were happy, we went on some adventures in London, and it was just great.”
Danielson previously said that his title win at AEW All In was the favorite moment of his career. Check out his comments here.
At AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Danielson is set to face Nigel McGuinness if he is medically cleared to compete.
