Bukayo Saka could not believe his eyes after Declan Rice scored a screamer against his former side West Ham.

Arsenal tore West Ham to shreds on Sunday at the London Stadium with Rice leading the charge as the Gunners went SIX goals up after an hour.

And the sixth came courtesy of a familiar face in east London after Rice let loose a howitzer from distance that flew past Alphonse Areola.

But the England international, who made over 200 appearances for West Ham, refused to celebrate even though the away fans were jubilant.

Included in those celebrations was Saka, who had his hands on his head in disbelief after witnessing what his teammate had just done.

As well as scoring against his former side, Rice also grabbed two assists - something he had never previously managed in a Premier League match.

Arsenal fans were loving Rice's goal, though some wish he celebrated.

That includes talkTV's Piers Morgan, who wanted the midfielder to shut up the booing fans inside the London Stadium.

He posted on X: "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!! 0-6.

"Absolute screamer from ⁦@_DeclanRice⁩ who refused to celebrate because he’s classier than the West Ham fans who booed him. He’s been the buy of the century."

Another wrote: "Fair play to Declan Rice for waiting until all the West Ham fans had gone home before scoring."

And a third said: "Declan Rice clearly respects the celebration police."

Rice was taken off immediately after scoring by Mikel Arteta, who also subbed Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard off with the result in the bag.

In truth, the game was over at half-time with the score 4-0 to the Gunners, or at least swathes of West Ham fans thought so after leaving the ground.

Arsenal have a busy month in the coming weeks when they take on Burnley next week but also Porto in the Champions League.

With the north Londoners in the hunt for a Premier League title, European glory is also in their sights with some big hitters missing this season.
